Continuing building the "Sf. Maria Regina"Roman-Catholic Church from Galati is possible only with your help Beneficiary: The Roman – Catholic Parish “The Birth of Saint John Baptist”, seated in Galati, at 88 Domneasca St., fiscal code: 13539652, the “Birth of Saint John Baptist” Roman-Catholic Parish account in ROL: RO36-RNCB-2700-0006-7501-0001 with BCR of Galati, account in Euro: RO09-RNCB-2700-0006-7501-0002 with BCR of Galati. The parish was established in 1676, the actual church being built in 1844. The number of catholic families is 860, summing up 1718 believers, grouped as follows: 533 whole families, 327 single-parent families, 168 children (3-14 years old), 120 youngsters (15-25 years old), 42 ill people, 275 old people. The parish has 5 branches located at a distance of 8-33 km, and there is only one chapel in one of them. These branches sum up a total of 33 families with 93 believers. Two retired sisters from the congregation “Notre Dame de Sion” are present in the parish. Because of the long distance (5-7 km) from the peripheral districts of the city to the church (5-7 km) and the difficulty of using the common means of transportation, we decided that it was to the best interest of the believers to build a new church located closer to their houses. By a Decision of the Local Council, we were granted gratuitously for the duration of the building a plot of land with a surface area of 3578.77 square meters. We started the works to clean and level the ground in the spring of 2006, drilling 26 meters deep to make the substructure piles, to a number of 72 pieces (photo).
The estimate for these works amounts to approximately 650,000 Euro (photocopy of the works contract amounting to 1,801,199 RON). Out of this amount: 20% are the contribution of the believers (volunteering work and the 10% fee of their annual incomes). But all the believers do not have a job (there are many enough living from social care, a lot of retired people), and the average income of an employee is 100 Euro. 4% are contributions from occasional sponsorships; Because of our low financial resources, we kindly ask for financial support to pay off the already performed works. We assure you of our prayers and we call the protection of the Saint Virgin Mary, the Queen (Patron Saint of the new church) upon Your Excellency and all benefactors.
